Everything is Better in Pink

I don't know about you, but I think glitter makes everything better....especially pink glitter.

I've been doing a lot of research for my room in the new house, or "The Suite" as I like to think call it.  It's going to be decked out in Paris decor fully equipped with pink walls and Audrey Hepburn photos.  I have it all decked out.  I'm really looking forward to it.  My baby brother and sister are going to be visiting as well.  There are so many awesome things about to take place in the next few months! I can't even being to describe. #Happiness!  More on all of that later.

20 minute Cross Fit Workout

Morning!  I just threw together this little cross fit workout and I thought I would make it all pretty and share it with you.  Because everyone like pretty things!  I'm about to get up on this as soon as I finish my coffee.  Wanna know something cool?  The killers name on this Cold Case episode is Shaina! WHAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

Wanna know something else cool that I only JUST realized??? That Commissioner Gordon from Batman is also SIRIUS BlACK! MIND BLOWN!!!!  How did I not know this.  I am SOOOO Lame.

Ok, I'm done with the crazy awesome facts.  Here's the workout.

Doing the 20 minute cross fit above, then some hardcore biking/walking on an incline at the gym when TheHubby comes home.  Dinner tonight is homemade beef and broccoli.  Plain for me, with brown rice for him.  This will happen!

I Don't Like It

Here is a photo diary of my first experience with coconut water a few months ago.

Yum, coconut water. This healthy shit everyone love. Must be amazing.

Let’s see what all the hype is about.

*takes big sip*

Urgh

Ya’ll like this mess??

This shit sucks

But it IS healthy though, right?

I guess I’ll drink it. I like healthy crap. And I’m a bandwagon rider!

But I don’t have to like it!
Well there you have it. Shaina and Coconut water. After all this time, I still hate the way it tastes…big time. But I am loving the benefits. Here are just a few:
—— Boosts Energy
—— Super duper hydrating
—— Digestion (I can attest to this….homegirl is reg-u-lar)
—— Antioxidants
—— You can use it on your skin and hair as well
I like how it makes me feel, even though it doesn’t taste so great. Are you drinking Coconut water?

On a side not, I’m loving this new series “The originals”. Granted, I have an unhealthy obsession with “The Vampire Diaries” so that could be why. I’m also reading the “The Infernal Devices” series from Cassandra Clare. I’ve finished “The Mortal Instruments” and I like this new series in a different way. I was overcome with lusty delight while reading about Jace.
What are you reading right now?

Berry Baked Oatmeal

I'm sitting in class right now on my lunch break, transferring old blogs to this new blog.  Tedious much?!

Not really, I'm catching up on Vampire Diaries lately...enjoy the originals.  Boy oh boy!  *getting hot*

Going to the gym tomorrow and still maintaining my no carbs no sugar situation.    I just have to close my eyes and keep saying "BIKINI BODY! BIKINI BODY!".  But while my eating is strict and simple, the hubs still gotta eat.

Enter the baked oatmeal.

While I'm trying to slim down, Hubs is trying to bulk up, and cooking breakfast in the morning for a military man can sometimes be nonexistent.  And we all know that preparation is the key to success!  I can't have any awesome, delicious oatmeal but he can.

Berry Baked Oatmeal
Makes 8 servings for a healthy hubby

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups old fashioned oats (or gluten free oats)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup blueberries and strawberries
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (sprinkle more on top if you want)
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 1/2 cups almond milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup almonds, smashed
Instructions:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 and coat an 8 X 8 inch baking pan with non stick spray.
  2. In a bowl, combine, all of the oats, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt.  In a measuring cup, melt butter and add the egg and beat.  Pour in the milk, vanilla and the crushed nuts until everything is combined.
  3. Add most of the berries (I saved some for the top).
  4. Pour into the pan and bake for 30 minutes. Add a bit more almond milk if necessary.
  5. Sprinkle the rest of the berries on top to make it prettyful!
  6. I wanted mine to be solid but soft, that way the hub can just add some almond milk and pop it into the microwave.

Do you watch Vampire Diaries?  If not, what's your guilty tv pleasure?

Balsamic Tomato Salad

Happy Friday!!!!!

This past weekend was the holiday party for my husbands squadron.  Yes, the holidays are over, but since most of the guys were deployed during that time, we decided to have it later.  There was a full spread; mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, roast beef, Turkey and stuffing with gravy and cranberry, rolls with MARGARINE (are you kidding me?), ham, green bean casserole, and corn.  Not to mention the 2 free drinks tickets, apple pie and chocolate cake.  But what I had...what I loved... was the big ole tomato salad.

It was soooooo good.  I just got a heaping serving of it and put it on top of a bed of lettuce.  I even went back for seconds.  (Don't tell anyone, but I DID have a slice of that apple pie).

I liked it so much I had to come home and make it myself.

I bought some fresh tomatoes and got right to work!  Look how pretty they are! I love some bright juicy tomatoes!

Unfortunately, the hubs isn't a big fan of tomatoes, so I'm going to have to eat all this deliciousness by my self.  Awww man...not!

Balsamic Tomato Salad

3 vine tomatoes, quartered
2 plum tomatoes, quartered
1/2 small red onion, chopped
1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup olive oil
2 garlic cloves
1 medium cucumber
Salt and pepper to taste
Dash of Basil

Quarter your tomatoes and add to a large bowl.  Chop your onions, and slice your cucumber, cutting each slice into 4ths.

Add to bowl and add garlic.

Pour your balsamic vinegar and olive oil on top.

Season with salt and pepper and basil.

Let rest at room temp for 15 minutes before you put it in the fridge.  This gives all the flavors an opportunity to sink in.
